Cherie Denham is an author, cook, baker and preserver, originally from a farm in rural County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Growing up surrounded by fresh, seasonal produce and traditional Irish food, her love of cooking was shaped by family life, the land, and the joy of sharing food around the table.

Cherie trained at the renowned Leiths School of Food and Wine in London, later returning to teach there. She worked as a private chef and ran cookery classes and demonstrations from her home in Hampshire. Cherie was inspired to become a food writer with a desire to create approachable, achievable recipes, recipes that people would actually want to make. Her dishes are rooted in real life: food she cooks for family and friends, food discovered on holidays, and recipes inspired by time spent working in Tuscany, as well as those drawn from her Irish upbringing.

Her first cookbook, The Irish Bakery, celebrates the comforting, rustic bakes of her childhood alongside modern twists. In 2024 it was awarded Irish Cookbook of the Year and Food & Travel Magazine Book of the Year.  Her second book, The Irish Kitchen, broadens the theme to include everyday meals, family feasts and food with a sense of place

Cherie’s recipes and writing have also appeared in Country Living, Food & Travel, and Delicious. magazine.
