Michael Murporgo Down Burrow Lane Thursday 10th September | 6:30 - 8:00pm

£22.00

We are very excited to announce that Michael Murporgo will be chatting to Ali Martin about his latest book Down Burrow Lane: Life and Love on the Farm.

Fifty years ago, Michael and Clare Morpurgo put their young family in the car and moved to Nethercott Farm, deep in rural Devon. Down Burrow Lane is the story of the ups and downs of their remarkable life on the farm. In this lyrical and deeply personal memoir, Morpurgo takes us from literary London in the Sixties to the magical Devon village, where he and Clare Morpurgo still live today. The book is about the deep connections of people, place and time, and the charity which Michael has called, ‘his greatest story.’

The Yard is fundraising to celebrate fifty years of the charity Farms for City Children founded by Clare and Michael Murporgo in 1976.

During the last 50 years the charity has provided over 100,000 children and young people with life-changing opportunities to live, learn and thrive on working farms in Devon, Gloucestershire and Pembrokeshire.  Farms for City children wants all young people to have the opportunity to grow happier and healthier through hands on experience of nature, food and farming.
